Making space for yourself
A small return to the things that make you feel like you.

Start smaller than an ideal day
You might not have an afternoon free, but you may have ten minutes. Choose something that feels restorative to you: a few pages, fresh air, music or a conversation. Rest does not have to become another achievement.
Name what you miss
Write down one thing you enjoyed before family routines became so full. Is there a smaller version that fits this week? You do not need to return to every old interest or stay the same person you were.
Make the time visible
If someone else shares care, agree on a specific time and what they will take responsibility for. A protected half-hour is easier to use than an open-ended promise to help. Offer the same clarity in return.
Adjust without judging
Some weeks the plan will fall apart. Move it, shorten it or try again. If you are struggling with your wellbeing or daily life, talk with a qualified health professional or someone you trust; a planner is not a substitute for personal support.
Try this, at your own pace.
- Choose one activity just for you.
- Put a realistic time in the shared planner.
- Ask for a specific handover, not vague help.
