Play without buying more things
Let familiar objects become a fresh invitation.

Choose one simple activity
Start with a familiar book, drawing materials or a song with actions. You do not need a large setup. Select materials suitable for your child’s age and supervise the activity as needed.
Follow the interest
Your child may use an activity differently from the way you planned. Notice what catches their attention and build from there. A short activity that ends happily is enough.
Rotate what is already there
Put a small selection of suitable toys or books within reach and change it when interest fades. Keeping the choice manageable can make tidying and choosing an activity easier for the adults too.
Make tidying part of the rhythm
Use a clear place for the materials and a familiar end-of-play cue. Invite your child to help in a way they can manage. The goal is a repeatable routine rather than a perfectly organised room.
Try this, at your own pace.
- Choose one familiar activity.
- Keep the setup small.
- Decide where everything goes afterwards.
